Spray Asters
Florist Asters are hybridized versions of the Native North American plant commonly known as "September Weed," due to their natural Fall flowering period.
Many florists still refer to Spray Asters as "Monte Casino", named after one of the original hybridized Aster varieties no longer bred.
There are many new, improved varieties of asters on the market today with exciting new colors, forms, and bloom sizes.
Some farms grade their asters only by weight. Make sure you know the stem count of the asters you purchase.
Even fairly tight cut asters develop and open well in warm water and floral preservative.
Grading Information:
Select Grade 70 cm minimum, 10 stems, 280 grams
Fancy Grade 55 cm minimum, 15 stems minimum, 280 grams.
Mardi Gras Spray, minimum of 25 laterals.
